Process of
Compostable Packaging

How it works — compostable bio-plastics to compost to plant extracts to bio polymers

• Process •

Our step-by-step approach.

Our process does not end with producing a compostable material. We focus on how that material performs when it enters an actual manufacturing process — helping customers select suitable grades and move confidently from trial to regular production.

Material development doesn’t end at the production line — it continues through application performance.

01

Material Selection

Starting with the Right Material Foundation

Every compostable material begins with the selection of suitable raw materials and formulation components. We evaluate the characteristics required for the intended application, including processing behaviour, flexibility, strength, appearance and end-use requirements.

The formulation is then developed around the balance required for the application rather than relying on a one-formula-fits-all approach.

02

Formulation & Compounding

Engineering the Material

Selected materials are combined through controlled formulation and compounding to create the required compostable material characteristics. Our formulation approach focuses on achieving a practical balance between processability, mechanical performance and application requirements.

Depending on the product, this stage results in compostable fillers, masterbatch or ready-to-use compostable compounds designed for specific manufacturing applications.

03

Controlled Manufacturing

Converting Formulation into Consistent Material

The formulated material is processed through controlled manufacturing conditions to produce uniform compostable granules. Process parameters are monitored throughout production to maintain material consistency and minimise variation between batches.

Controlled feeding, mixing, temperature management and extrusion conditions help ensure that the final material is suitable for its intended processing application.

Quality Testing

Testing What We Manufacture

Quality is evaluated through defined testing and inspection procedures throughout the manufacturing process. Depending on the material and application, key characteristics may include melt flow, moisture, mechanical properties, appearance and other relevant technical parameters.

Testing helps us verify that each batch meets the applicable internal specifications and supports consistent performance during customer processing.

Measure. Verify. Maintain consistency.

Application & Technical Validation

From Material to Real-World Processing

A material needs to perform beyond the laboratory. Application evaluation helps us understand how a compostable material behaves under practical processing conditions and whether it meets the requirements of the intended product.

Our technical team works with customers during material trials, process evaluation and application development to support the transition from material selection to regular production.
